Fish Health Program

RAMP is currently working with the communities of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo to undertake the Fish Health Program. The Fish Health Program was initiated in response to community concerns about fish with anomalies. Fish anomalies are any changes to the fish's appearance that are obvious on the outside or the inside of the fish. These anomalies could be due to physical, chemical or biological changes in the environment. The purpose of the program is to take samples of fish with anomalies captured by people in the community to submit to a pathology laboratory to determine the type, origin and cause of the anomaly.
